From paste to presentation
Three steps to a clearer view.
Verify your email
Register above, open the verification email and confirm your address. We will then email your personal code, add-in, guide and practice workbook.
Install and open
In desktop Excel, go to File → Options → Add-ins → Excel Add-ins → Go → Browse, choose the add-in and tick it. Open the practice workbook.
Build your WBS view
Choose CONTOUR → Convert to WBS View. Enter the personal code from your email, then use the level buttons to explore.
That is expected: the add-in provides commands, not a visible spreadsheet. Open the practice workbook or press Ctrl + N, then find the CONTOUR tab.
Is CONTOUR the same tool as WBS View Builder?
Yes. CONTOUR — The True Troop WBS Tool is the product name. In Excel, the ribbon tab is CONTOUR and the command is Convert to WBS View. The add-in filename remains WBSViewBuilder.xlam.
I already installed the tool. How do I update?
Close Excel completely. Download the latest add-in using the link in your toolkit email, then replace WBSViewBuilder.xlam in the same folder where you installed it. Reopen Excel and look for the CONTOUR tab. If the tab still says WBS View, Excel is loading an older copy; check its installed path in File → Options → Add-ins. Keep only one installed copy.
Your existing PC activation stays linked as before. Older long codes remain valid; you do not need to register again if your code already works.
What does the latest activation code look like?
New codes use the shorter, 22-character format TT-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. The Xs show the format only: enter your own code from your email. If you have an older long code, keep using it. Install the latest add-in before entering a new short code.
Which version of Excel do I need?
Use the desktop version of Microsoft Excel on Windows with macros permitted for this trusted add-in. Excel for the web does not run VBA macros. This edition is not designed for Mac.
Where are my activation code and downloads?
First, open the verification email and follow its link. Choose Verify my email on the confirmation page. Your code and all three download links arrive in a second email. Check your junk or spam folder if either email has not arrived after a few minutes.
If the verification link expires, register again to request a fresh link. For delivery problems, contact support@thetruetroop.com.
What if I register again or lose my code?
Use the same email address and verify the new email link. We will resend the same activation code with the latest download links. Each email address keeps one code for future requests; registering again does not reset its existing PC activation.
If you already received more than one code before this update, your earlier codes remain valid. Future requests consistently resend one of your existing codes. For help with an early registration or a different PC, contact support@thetruetroop.com.
Do I need to enter my code every time?
The add-in remembers the code for your Windows account on the activated PC. It checks access online the first time you use it in each Excel session, so an internet connection is needed then.
Can I share the tool or my finished view?
You can share your editable .xlsx view. Recipients need the add-in to use the WBS macro buttons. If you forward the add-in, ask the next person to register here and verify their own email for a personal code. A code already activated on your PC will not activate another PC.
CONTOUR branding and the training website remain on the ribbon. The tool does not require branding on your worksheets.
Can I change my data and rebuild?
Keep your original P6 paste sheet and its name. Make lasting changes there, then use Rebuild in the generated view. CONTOUR finishes the replacement before retiring the old view, so a failed rebuild keeps your previous view. A successful rebuild replaces edits made directly in the generated view.
Keep the add-in installed and its filename unchanged so the WBS buttons can find it.
Can I resize columns or add another sheet?
Drag column boundaries normally, or choose AutoFit to fit the data columns. Generated sheets are editable, and CONTOUR no longer locks rows or workbook structure. Normal Excel sheet commands are available.
New P6 sheet adds a blank input sheet in the same workbook, ready for a new paste at A1. Copy data creates an independent copy of values, formatting and column widths, including hidden rows. Formulas become values; the copy has no outline grouping or Rebuild link.
Which P6 data should I paste?
Use an activity table grouped by WBS, with Indent enabled and all groups expanded. Copy the grouped table and paste at A1 on a blank sheet. Keep the headings, WBS band rows and indentation. A flat Excel export may omit the hierarchy needed to build the view.

Contact support@thetruetroop.com using the email address you registered with. Explain what you need help with before sharing any activation details.
Your registration
How we use your information
The True Troop Consulting Ltd records your name, email address and activation details to provide and support access to the WBS tool. We confirm your access to the email address before sending your activation code. When you activate the tool, we also record a hash of the computer identifier to link the code to that PC.
We record your marketing choice separately. The checkbox is optional and starts unticked. The verification and download emails are part of providing the tool and do not require marketing consent. You can change your marketing choice by contacting support@thetruetroop.com.
